Spring turns to summer.

Our last meeting until the autumn winds blow.

Here is the proposed menu for our local food and wine celebration:


First Course
A salad of sautéed king mushrooms, mixed baby greens, green peas and fried Guernsey Girl cheese croutons with a verjus, brown butter and dark maple syrup dressing

Paired with - Flat Rock Cellars Riddled Sparkling 2010, Twenty Mile Bench, Ontario

Second Course

Maple smoked Georgian Bay whitefish on a Lafontaine potato and bacon griddlecake
with maple rhubarb chutney and fried sage

Paired with - 2027 Cellars Aberdeen Road Vineyard Chardonnay 2013, Beamsville Bench, Ontario

Third Course

Duck confit vol-au-vent with fire-roasted tomatoes, baby spinach, grated Guernsey Girl cheese
and green garlic-rosemary cream

Paired with - Domaine Queylus Tradition Pinot Noir 2013, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario

Fourth Course

Roasted striploin of Ontario "AAA" Angus beef, crusted with spring herbs and garlic scapes,
served 'au jus' with fresh asparagus, purple and gold fingerling potatoes and baby carrots

Paired with - Foreign Affair 'Dream' 2013, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario

Fifth Course

Profiteroles stuffed with fresh Ontario strawberries and whipped cream,
drizzled with minted honey, kissed with stewed rhubarb

Paired with - Strawberry Gin Smash with Georgian Bay Gin
